Music at Spud's
The
Parlor Music Series ends our run at Spuds Pizza this
weekend....
We'd like to thank Andrew Beretvas for graciously allowing us to host our Musical friends in the little room for the past four years. Its been a fabulous run & we have had some great Music. Thanks to the Audience, many thanks to the Musicians. We're Sending you off with a Bang with these two shows! This Friday, July 17th, we present. Steven Strauss Steven Strauss is set for this Friday's swan song show at Spuds Parlor. Billy Wilson and Steven will play their electric ukes as Old Puppy with able assistance on bass from Mitch Polzak. Then, after a break and a good quantity of beer, They will return and play their favorite honky tonk music in their chairs as Bayou Diesel: Billy on steel guitar, Mitch on electric guitar, and Steven will play electric bass.And for our Final Show on Saturday, July 18th, we present:

early beginnings as a pop and jazz musician in California,
Jack Gates has evolved a very personal and evocative musical
style.Through a broad range of performing and recording experiences with Marcos Silva, Jeff Narrell, Claudia Gomez, Liza Silva, David Belove, Nayo Ulloa, Kit Walker, Joanne Shenandoa, Chuck Metcalf, and many others, Jack Gates has consistently brought an innovative and imaginative approach to sound and arrangements. Strong melodies, exciting right hand flourishes and exotic rhythmic pulses are fused in the acoustic guitar of Jack Gates. Brazilian choro, jazz chording and flamenco duende are brought together in a singular musical montage.
